It's the battle of the Davids!
Next week's American Idol finale will pit 17-year-old favorite David Archuleta versus soulful rocker David Cook , 25, in what judge Simon Cowell calls "a real humdinger!"
It’ll be the first guy vs. guy finale since season 2’s Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard showdown.
On Wednesday night's Idol , Florida native Syesha Mercado , 21, was sent home after receiving lukewarm reviews from the judges for her three performances the night before. Ryan Seacrest said over 56 million viewers had voted.
The aspiring actress was ever the professional — performing Alicia Key 's "If I Ain't Got You" without shedding a tear Wednesday.
Former Idol winner Fantasia Barrino also performed.
