Carrie Underwood is an "American Idol" champ, best-selling artist and tabloid target -- now she can add Opry honoree to her resume. The country favorite was inducted into Nashville's famed Grand Ole Opry this weekend in a ceremony that caused her to well up with tears as she declared, "I promise I'll do everything I possibly can to not make you regret it."
As her proud mom and pop watched from the front row, Carrie sang "Jesus Take the Wheel" in front of country legends Garth Brooks and Vince Gill. "This is a marriage," Garth told Carrie. "Nothing will last as long or be as important as this award right here."
The Opry has been making history for 83 years, standing as the longest continuously running radio show in the country. Carrie, 25, burst onto the country scene in 2005 after being crowned "Idol" winner.
