The Idol Countdown: Five Essential Moments From Last Night’s “American Idol” — Rolling Stone : Rock and Roll Daily
It was supposed to be Eighties week on American Idol , but the eight remaining semifinalist guys embraced the night’s other theme: embarrassment. Luke Menard sang a wussy “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go,” David Hernandez recalled the dreadful day he had “a pea-sized booger” in his nose and even wunderkind David Archuleta had to swallow his pride as Simon Cowell ...

And some of the guys sounded awesome, while others did not….at least two of the Davids will sail ...
American Idol Top 8 GuysGroovin' to the '80s — American Idol - I'm the One That You Want
This is the last week of eliminations to reach the Top 12 finalists, and, we must admit, the men are sounding pretty good. Most of them were able to find songs that both fit their voices and style for the week's theme, which is the '80s. Of course, we had to sit through the video clip for each contestant. The theme of those was "my most embarrassing moment," and, frankly, some were just TMI. ...

American Idol - Top 8 Guys Perform — Give Me My Remote
The remaining 8 guys are taking on the 80’s tonight. I’m actually scared to think what’s ahead of us in the next hour. I’m not a big fan of theme week, and in general I’m not a fan of the Idols taking on the 80’s. Maybe the guys will surprise me tonight. You never know.
Luke [...]

The American Idol Power Poll: Volume VI — The Hollywood Gossip
The top two spots on this week’s American Idol Power Poll hold healthy leads over the rest of the field. That’s what happens when you make Paula Abdul cry and sing Simon Cowell’s theme song with such restraint and beauty.
