... " finale tonight. But that was just the start. TMZ.com reports that "Iron Man" star Robert Downey Jr. will appear with Ben Stiller and Jack Black as the Pips in a video seg with Gladys Knight. The Jonas Brothers and ZZ Top are also on. Yikes. Maybe we'll have to liveblog this shindig after all. Meanwhile, "Idol" is counting over 100 million votes; we're guessing 95 million are from 12-year-old girls for Cute David Archuleta. That might not be so bad for Rocker David Cook in the long run. Everybody wins...on Fox tonight. ...

... The fact that it sounds like something that Frank Cross would be commissioning in the opening scene of Scrooged II: Now He's Really Scrooged. Also that you'd think the Idol producers would not want to get so blatantly "inspired" by The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, 30 Rock, and a Geico ad in its big, CGI-busting finale, but I guess that sort of creativity-lacking moxie is what I should expect from the show by now.
