Week nine of America Idol 2008 live performances brought us the Top 7 contestants and the very noticeable absence of another. Last week’s shocking elimination of Michael Johns was still being felt as the final 7 took the stage to perform Mariah Carey songs. MOST AWESOME PERFORMANCE: This one's a three-way tie between celebrity mentor Mariah Carey, American Idol, and my boy David Cook. Mariah because she actually did a really good job mentoring, which shocked me just like J-Lo did last year.
