American Idol 7 Top 8 Guys Chikezie - Video

Chikezie sang “All the Woman That I Nee” which I know mostly as a Whitney Houston song (as “All the Man That I Need”) and he did a good job. Randy said it was an interesting song choice but that it was good. Paula said the vocals sounded great and Simon said it was cabaret.

Last night the top-8 guys performed on an 80s themed edition of "American Idol," including the undisputed #1 front runner David Archuleta performing Phil Collins' classic "Another Day in Paradise." Personally, I would like to see Chikezie, whose take on Whitney Houston's "All the Man That I Need" I did enjoy, as well as Luke Menard, who tragically paled in comparison with George Michael, go. The judges gave the amazing Archuleta some criticism asking him to lighten up a bit. Michael Johns sang “ Don’t You Forget About Me ” and it was okay but it *is* one of my favorite songs (from “ The Breakfast Club ” soundtrack). Randy said it was a nice one, Paula said she loves the strength in his lower range and Simon liked it but didn’t love it.

Jason Castro sang “ Hallelujah ” and it was good. I didn’t go crazy for it or anything but I think he put some emotion into it. Randy said he did a pretty good job, Paula said he made it sound effortless and showed vulnerability and Simon thought it was absolutely brilliant and said that Jason is “getting better and better and better.”
